DRAMA ---- MUSIC ---- SETS ---- DANCE
"The Story-Tellin' Man" is a musical for children and youth by Ken Medema. Jesus was a Teacher who told lots of stories, from happy to sad and adventuress to thought- provoking. Every story had an important lesson. This musical tells some of those stories with speakers and music.
Every Sunday for nine weeks they will learn about one of the stories in the book, sing the songs, build sets and costumes and learn dance movements.
The performance will be at 10:00 am on November 9.
Following that performance, they will begin rehearsals for the Christmas program on November 16. The Christmas program will be presented on December 21 at 10:00 am.
ALSO ON SUNDAY MORNINGS:
At 9:00 am on Sundays, we have Sunday school on the 1st,3rd, and 5th Sundays for all age groups and Kid's Church on the 2nd and 4th Sundays in the Chapel. There are also classes during the 11:00 am worship. See the age groups and room numbers from above. As always, we encourage 4th grade and older students to attend a worship service.

THE FIRST CHRISTMAS by Crosson and Borg
In this book, two of today's top Jesus scholars, Marcus Borg and John Dominic Crossan, join forces to show how History has biased our reading of the nativity story as it appears in the gospels of Matthew and Luke...here they explore the beginning of the life of Christ, peeling away the sentimentalism that has built up over the last two thousand years around this most well known of stories to reveal the truth of what the gospels actually say. Borg and Crossan help us to see this well known narrative afresh by answering the question, 'What do these stories mean?' in the context of both the first century and the twenty first century. They successfully show that the Christmas story, read in its original context, is far richer and more challenging than people imagine.
Begins November 30 for 4 weeks. Sundays at 10:00 am in the Parlor
