Maundy Thursday Celebration

The night we remember Jesus' last supper. Over the past few years we, here at Rose City Park UMC, have been enjoying a "Love Feast," on this night. A tradition that began in the early church. A tender time with a simple meal where songs are sung, scripture read, witnessing shared, and prayer offered. We will end our time with Holy Communion. This will take place at 6:30 pm in the parlor.

Good Friday Service

A service of remembrance in the sanctuary at 7:00 pm. We will hear of the 7 Last Words of Jesus and a short meditation on John 17: Oneness with God. In the silence we will ponder the death of Jesus, our own invitations to give our lives away, and end with the extinguishing of candles.

Easter Vigil

March 21, 2008 - 8:00 pm

The vigil begins Friday, March 21st, following the Good Friday service of candles and darkness and concludes Easter morning at 6:00 am. Individuals or families should sign-up for half hour intervals (you may sign-up for a couple). The sign up sheet is in the Narthex. The Easter Vigil is an opportunity to experience a reflective time in our sanctuary which recreates an experience for us that can be like that of Christ's disciples outside the tomb in the Garden Of Gethsemane as they await the resurrection.

The joy of God's hope explodes from our congregation as the Holy Spirit moves among us as at the time of creation! Through music with Bells, Brass, Organ, Choir and Praise Band, the joy of God's great affirmation will be experienced. The sermon is entitled: "I Beheld it at Multnomah Falls: A New Creation!" The scripture is Isaiah 2:1-4; John 20.

Easter Sunday Pancake Breakfast

March 23, 2008 - 9:30 am

Everyone is invited to join us for an Easter breakfast from 9:30 - 11:30 in Youngson Hall. The youth will be serving pancakes (regular and gluten free), sausage, fruit and beverage. The cost for children is $4, adults $6, seniors $5 and families are $16. Proceeds will help support 2008 Youth summer missions.
