1. AUTHORIZED USE. Approval of your facility use is granted only for the dates, times and for the

    specific rooms, which are listed in your Facility Use Agreement. Access to our facility outside of those approved dates, times, and rooms, is not allowed or approved. Any change including cancelation, or additional use required, shall be submitted to us in writing for approval and must be approved prior to your use. Requests can be made via email to the email listed above.

  2. ROOM SETUP. Each group will specify their desired room setup on the application. Easels, televisions, DVD/VCR units, additional chairs and tables are available for event use at an additional charge. Please specify on room setup sheet. Do not remove furniture or other items from the room.

  3. BREAKAGE. All persons and/or groups using our facilities are expected to exercise reasonable care and judgment in such use in order to prevent defacement, damage or breakage. The persons signing the application for use shall be responsible for paying costs incurred by the church in cleaning, repairing, etc. any part of the building or its furnishings and equipment which in the judgment of the church has been carelessly or irresponsibly subjected to more than normal wear and tear by the persons or group involved.

  4. DECORATIONS. Decorations may be attached to the walls and doors with removable putty only. Do not place or hang decorations from the overhead light fixtures. No tape, screws, nails, hooks or staples are permitted on any walls, floors, doors, woodwork or painted surfaces. All decorations must be removed immediately and completely following the event. Youngson Hall has existing hooks and eyes on the ceiling that are available for use.

  5. FOOD AND DRINK. There is no food or drink allowed in the Sanctuary or Chapel except water bottles. All other food and drink requires approval in advance as noted on the Facility Use Agreement.

  6. CLEAN UP. While RCPUMC employs custodial staff, it is the responsibility of the group using the facilities to leave it in good order just as you found it. All trash should be picked up and put into the proper receptacle. All tables should be wiped off. RCPUMC custodial staff is not responsible for picking up litter or washing dishes. If you should rearrange furniture for your event, please return it to the original layout before leaving.

  7. SUPERVISION OF CHILDREN AND YOUTH. Minors must be supervised by a responsible adult.

  8. NURSERY USE. The nursery facility is available only by arrangement with church office staff.

  9. KITCHEN USE. The kitchen is restricted and requires supervision and/or training from an RCPUMC representative.

  10. RECYCLING. Receptacles for recycling glass, tin, aluminum and paper are available for your use.

  11. STORAGE. There is no excess storage available for organizations other than church groups. As such, all organizations using the facility will be responsible for storing props and accessories offsite.

12. ORGAN AND PIANO USE. Permission to use the organ must be granted by the organist. Pianos and organs cannot be moved. If the user wishes to have instruments tuned, it will be tuned at the user’s expense by a craftsman approved by the Music Director or organist.

Facilities Rules

  1. SANCTUARY SOUND SYSTEM. The RCPUMC Sanctuary sound system is available upon request. The systems will be operated only by RCPUMC sound technicians. Group‐provided sound, recording or video equipment may not be attached to this sound system.

  2. NO SMOKING. All members of all groups using our facilities shall abide at all times by a “no smoking” rule in all parts of the building, including corridors and restrooms. Violation of this rule is sufficient grounds for a staff member to withdraw immediately any group’s use of the facilities and/or to deny use in the future.

  3. NO ALCOHOL/DRUGS. The serving, consumption, or use of alcoholic beverages, marijuana, or other narcotics shall not be permitted at any time on church property, including the outdoor areas and parking lots.

  4. NO GAMES OF CHANCE. United Methodist churches abstain from the use of raffles, lotteries, bingo, door prizes, other drawing schemes, and games of chance for the purpose of gambling or fundraising.

  5. NO ANIMALS. Animals, other than service animals, are not permitted in the building.

  6. BICYCLES AND SKATEBOARDS. Bicycles or skateboards are not allowed inside the church facility.

    Bicycle racks are provided at the 58th Street side entrance.

  7. PARKING. Parking for RCPUMC is available only during the period of time which a group has contracted to use the facility. Parking is available on a first‐come, first‐served basis. Any damage to vehicles is at the owner’s expense; RCPUMC is not responsible for theft or damage to personal property.

  8. SECURITY. RCPUMC works to maintain a safe and secure environment within the facility, However, no systems are foolproof. We ask that all users pay close attention to personal property and valuables, not leaving them unattended. RCPUMC is not responsible for theft or damage to personal property. Outside doors are to remain locked during preschool hours.

  9. EMERGENCY SCHEDULING CONFLICTS. RCPUMC reserves the right to change room assignments or pre‐empt any facility for its own use. Notice will be provided as early as possible. Deposits or fees paid shall be returned to the applicant.

  10. PAYMENT OF USE FEES. Use fees are due two weeks prior to the event. Exceptions to this must receive prior approval from the Trustees. In the event payment is not received in advance, RCPUMC reserves the right to cancel the reservation.

  11. FINAL DECISIONS. In case of doubt or uncertainty by any outside person or group about the application or interpretation of these regulations, or in our customary practices not specifically mentioned here, the designated church representative shall decide the matter and all individuals and groups shall abide by the church representative’s directions or forfeit immediately the use of any part of the facility.
